Opening payment form on several devices
Overview
Payment Page supports display of the QR code for opening payment form on another device of the customer without breaking up the session. For instance, this option may be useful when the payment form is initially displayed on a TV screen, but it is more convenient for the customer to use a mobile device to continue payment processing.
The QR code can be displayed on the following pages of the payment form: the page of payment method selection, the page with fields for entering payment details (except for some payment methods), the page to select a payment instrument out of the previously saved ones, and the page with notification about the need to complement payment details.
When the customer scans the QR code, the customer can be redirected to the page of payment method selection, the page with fields for entering payment details, or the page to select a payment instrument out of the previously saved ones. The redirection destination on another device depends on the page of the payment form which the customer is redirected from and the specific parameters to open the payment form (for example, specifying the payment method that has been preselected). Mind that the payment details specified by the customer when using the initial device are not saved and are not displayed on the payment form on another device.
Screen synchronisation on customer's devices is not supported. The initial device displays the page of the payment form from which redirection is performed. The payment form is active on both devices until the customer confirms the targeted action on at least one of the devices. After that, the targeted action can be completed only using the device where it was confirmed.
Special considerations and limitations
The QR code for opening the payment form can be displayed if the following conditions are provided:
- The payment form can have the standard design provided by ecommpay or be customised with the use of the design builder to meet the specific needs of the merchants.
If the payment form design is implemented on the basis of another interface model (not the basic one), contact the ecommpay key account manager for the information about supporting the capability of opening Payment Page on several devices.
- The customer performs one of the following targeted actions: purchase, authorization hold, payment instrument verification, or COF purchases registration.
The functionality is not compatible with tokenization.
- A particular payment method supports the functionality (for more information, contact ecommpay technical support).
If the customer selects the payment method that does not support this functionality, the QR code is not displayed on the next pages of the payment form.
