Setup and configuration
When you set up Gate2Asia, you can select countries, payment methods, and payment currencies that you need and together with the ecommpay specialists configure the operating modes of the payment form and payment processing that match the specific characteristics of the selected countries and your business goals. Fine-tuning can involve any functionality of the ecommpay payment platform. However, the most relevant and site specific for working in the Southeast Asian countries are the capabilities of the payment method parametric filtering and applying additional rules of risk assessment.
Managing payment method availability by parametric filtering is a capability that allows your customer to select those payment methods that are optimal for each specific purchase depending on the currency or the country specified in the request. When a wide range of local payment methods is used (which is often the case in the region), this filtering option can significantly improve convenience of user scenarios and the speed with which customers interact with the payment form. For more information, refer to the following article: Managing payment methods availability.
Applying additional risk assessment rules when local payment methods are used allows you to set up and maintain an extended set of rules based on the information about customers, their devices, and payment profiles and also adapted to the regional specifics. It helps you provide higher level of fraud prevention when you work in these countries. The general information about risk assessment for payment processing via the platform can be found in the following article: Risk management.
