Region codes for card payments

When processing card payments according to the rules and requirements of global card networks, you should track the information about the customer's and the merchant's countries. It strengthens compliance with the existing regulations, ensures proper application of relevant fees, and facilitates payment traffic analysis (including fraud detection). The customer country is the country where the customer's card account is registered. The merchant country is the country where the headquarters or the store of the merchant is registered. To identify different combinations of these two parameters, the card networks use special codes. When you work with the ecommpay payment platform, these codes are specified in HTTP responses and callbacks.

The following tables contain region codes used in processing payments made with Mastercard and Visa.
